Desolate Road

Strolling through the desolate road,

Wishing the heart was made of stone,

Striving to rid of all emotion,

Cursing all pain and sorrow,

Mocking my wounded self,

Crashing she came through the darkness,

Filling me with hope in her eyes,

Pondering I was of her profound impact,

Staring I stood as she waltzed away,

Overwhelming she left me paralyzed,

Forsaking me on that desolate road.

  1. I like this one; plus, it compliments your header and your icon pretty well. Have you ever read “Hagakure: The Book of the Samurai”? The first 5 lines remind me a bit of that type of Way because it sounds like you were meditating on emptiness to prepare yourself in a similar way that the Samurai meditates on death.

    • Thank you so much Kurtis! ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s funny I didn’t realize this poem complimented my header until you mentioned it! ๐Ÿ˜€ I wrote this poem spontaneously when I was feeling down without giving it much thought. I’m so glad you liked it! P.S. No I have never heard of that book before.. ๐Ÿ™‚
